CBI welcomes Bernie Estavillo

The Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science is pleased to welcome Bernie Estavillo as a Software Applications Developer.

As part of CBI Analytics & Technology Solutions (CATS), Bernie will focus on the implementation of back-end services, service integrations, and migration of legacy data for Lighthouse, a coastal ocean observation software system being rebuilt by CBI for a Project of Special Merit awarded through the Texas General Land Office (GLO).

Bernie is an accomplished Software Developer with more than 20 years of experience, specializing in back-end development, cloud infrastructure, and data analysis. His career spans diverse industries, where he has consistently led the development of innovative, scalable software solutions.

Throughout his career, Bernie has contributed to large-scale cloud migrations, improved back-end infrastructures, and enhanced software efficiency at companies like AT&T and Cabana. His earlier roles include key development work for the U.S. Army’s tactical systems and various positions focused on optimizing high-traffic network services, DevOps leadership, and software development for both public and private sectors.

Bernie holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin. With a holistic approach to software development, Bernie continues to empower teams and drive innovations that enhance operational efficiency and scalability across organizations.
