The Conrad Blucher Institute is pleased to welcome Juan Womack.
Juan joins CBI as its Lead Software Applications Developer (LSAD). As part of CBI Analytics & Technology Solutions (CATS), Juan will provide technical leadership and oversee the design, implementation, deployment, and delivery of Lighthouse, a coastal ocean observation software system being built by CBI for a Project of Special Merit awarded through the Texas General Land Office (GLO). The scope of the project includes the design and implementation of a new cloud-native system consisting of back-end microservices, a modern user interface, the implementation and integration of automated data QA/QC tools, and the migration of environmental data from an existing system to the new system.
With a rich professional history working in the military and in the private sector, Juan brings a wealth of experience to CBI. His tenure in the U.S. Navy was focused on naval aviation administration, while post-service he contributed to Sikorsky Aerospace Maintenance as a contractor at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.
His academic achievements include securing dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science and graduating summa cum laude from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Transitioning to the corporate world, Juan spent a decade at USAA, where he excelled as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, and Business Analyst. While there, he led software teams to success in projects related to investments, accounting, and telematics insurance, showcasing his leadership and technical prowess.
We are excited about the contributions and experience Juan brings and welcome him to CBI.
