Mr. Son Nguyen is Assistant Director of the Conrad Blucher Institute’s Analytics & Technology Solutions (CATS) team at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. Having earned his MS in Computer Science at TAMU-CC, Son got his first full-time position working as a software developer for the GRIIDC group at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies (HRI). He joined CBI in 2019 as a software developer. Son oversees software development projects and IT infrastructure for CBI.
As a Co-PI, Son supports the multi-year development of the Nurdle Patrol website and mobile apps in collaboration with Jace Tunnell, Director of Community Engagement, at HRI. He is also a collaborator and a data specialist for the NSF AI Institute for Research on Trustworthy AI in Weather, Climate, and Coastal Oceanography (AI2ES). Son has experience in developing prototype and production software in Cloud environments and local resources. Son specializes in applying DevOps practices for building software development continuous integration & continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
